Playa del Carmen one of the most popular touristic destinations in Mexico and will be very active this September 15 when the country celebrates their independence day. It will be a huge party everywhere, especially on Fifth Avenue.
The Mayor will perform the traditional “Grito de Dolores” at 11pm at the town’s square. You can expect fireworks, fair games and other traditional amenities.
There is going to be a lot of food, dancing and tequila, after all, this is the most representative holiday in Mexico.
Basically, any place you go will host some sort of Mexican themed party, but here is a list of the events that stand out:
The Grand Hyatt Hotel will have a culinary demonstration. This will start at 6:30pm with a cocktail afterwards. Prices start at 350 Mexican pesos.
Canibal Royal will host Independanza Festival. This concert will bring international talents like Rob Garza from Thievery Corporation and WhoMadeWho. Tickets start at 1,200 Mexican pesos.
McCarthy’s Irish Pub willhave a tribute concert of Mexican rock bands like Café Tacuba and Caifanes.
Thompson Hotel will invite DJ’s for 3 days including a pool party on the 17th of September.
